First impression
For Christmas I got a Target gift card from my cousin. I've watched tons of makeup/beauty videos on youtube the last couple of months and have seen the NYX powder blushes a couple of times. I've never tried it before, but with extra cash in hand, I decided to give it a try. I bought a couple of other things, which I will show a picture of down below and write individual reviews for those once I've properly tried them out.
Let's start with the packaging: it's small, closes shut and doesn't seem like it'll burst open in my bag, and looks sleek. Plus, I really like the cute heart in the middle there.
I chose the color Rose Garden because it has the gold speckles in it and I thought it was just gorgeous! I couldn't decide between this one and Mocha because that one was also very pretty, but I went with this one (plus, my boyfriend also liked it). The price is very very reasonable. It was only $4.99 + tax.
As soon as we got back home (after looking at makeup for a long while, oops!), I opened it up and immediately swatched it on my finger. It's so vibrant, that I didn't think it would go well on my olive skin tone. However, it can be built up easily and blends so well that it looks amazing. I thought that it would be super sparkly because of the glitter, but once it goes on it isn't very noticeable.
I haven't had a chance to test out the staying power, but I will wear it tomorrow to work all day and will post an update about that tomorrow night. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed hoping it lasts for a long time because so far I am impressed by the color, the blendable formula, and potency of it. I tried some on (the blush I was wearing had worn off by then) and only needed to sweep a tiny bit of it on the apples of my cheeks unlike other blushes that are so sheer that I have to use up a lot of the product in order to see some color.
Has anyone else tried this blush? What did you think of it? Comment below!
Here go all the other goodies I got today:
NYX concealer in a jar in beige, the NYX Blush in Rose Garden, Up & Up foundation brush, liner brush, and concealer brush.
Final results
I applied the blush at 8AM and it has super amazing staying power. I checked on it around 2PM at work and it still looked great. Usually my blush is just about gone by then. I checked again around 5PM and my cheeks still had a bit of color on them. It is now 11PM and the color is definitely gone now, but wow, what staying power this blush has. I am highly impressed by the quality of this product. I highly recommend it!
